This temple is said to have been founded by Gyoki during the Nara period and later revived by the monk Kyoukei Shonin during the Chokoku era. In addition to the main enshrined image, a six-shaku tall Buddha statue, the temple houses standing statues of Fudo Myoo (Acala, the Immovable Wisdom King) and Bishamonten (Vaisravana, the Guardian of the North).
