🙏 心願成就

A temple of the Shingon Risshu sect located in Naka-ku, Nagoya, with the official name Kitano-san Shinpuku-ji Hoshoin. The main enshrined deity is Seigyo Kannon (Avalokiteshvara). Locally, it is affectionately known as 'Osaka Kannon' or 'Osaka no Kannon-san'. It was founded in 1324 CE (Genko 4) by the monk Noshin at the imperial request of Emperor Go-Daigo in the Osaka village of Mino Province (now Hashima City, Gifu Prefecture). In 1612 CE (Keicho 17), it was relocated to its current site near Nagoya Castle by order of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Together with the adjacent Osaka Shopping Street, it forms the center of Nagoya's bustling district. The temple treasure, the 'Osaka Bunko' (Osaka Library), is an Important Cultural Property that houses numerous valuable texts, including the oldest extant manuscript of the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters), and is counted as one of Japan's Three Great Scripture Repositories.
