歴史・由来
The Kanazawa Gosha are five shrines that have long been enshrined in Kanazawa, the castle town of the Kaga Domain. They received the devotion of the Maeda family of the Kaga Domain and gathered faith as protectors of the castle town and as sites for warding off misfortune.
Utasu Shrine is beloved as the guardian shrine of the Higashi Chaya District, enjoyed alongside the artistic atmosphere of Kanazawa.

The Kanazawa Gosha are conveniently scattered throughout the city and can be visited alongside famous landmarks such as the Higashi Chaya District, Kanazawa Castle, and Kenrokuen Garden. The unique beliefs and rituals of each shrine still live on today, such as the Setsubun events at Utasu Shrine and the "Aburimochi Shinji" (ritual of toasted rice cakes) at Shinmeigu Shrine for warding off evil.
The tour takes about half a day by car. We recommend visiting while soaking in the atmosphere of the historic castle town.
