Takeda Jinja (Takeda Shrine)
たけだじんじゃ
A shrine located on the site of the Tsutsujigasaki-yakata, enshrining the famous Sengoku period general Takeda Shingen. It is revered as a deity of victory.
Overview
The enshrined deity is Takeda Shingen. The shrine was founded in 1919 CE (Taisho 8) on the site of the Tsutsujigasaki-yakata (the residence of the Takeda clan), which served as the headquarters of the Kai Genji Takeda clan for three generations—Takeda Nobutora, Shingen, and Katsuyori—since it was built in 1519 CE (Eisho 16). Following the Russo-Japanese War, it became revered as a "war god" and is known as a deity of victory. The treasury displays precious items such as Shingen's military fan, the sword "Yoshioka Ichimonji," and the "Takeda Twenty-Four Generals" painting.
