During the Mongol invasions, Hojo Tokimune dedicated a sword inscribed with 'Kikichi' and a sacred bell. After being destroyed by fire during the Sengoku period, it was rebuilt in 1559 CE (Eiroku 2). In 1689 CE (Genroku 2), the shrine was relocated to the foot of the mountain. It was named 'Kasutatsu Inari Daimyojin' (Great Deity of Inari Who Removes Hats) because a traveler's hat fell off, though it was later renamed 'Kasamori Inari Daimyojin'.
