Successive lords of Takashi Castle and Nagase Castle revered the shrine, and shrine monks served it as the bodhi temple of Nagayama-ji. Although the shrine was burned down during the civil unrest of the Genkō and Kenmu periods, its status as an ancient shrine is evident from its inclusion in old records.
