A shrine founded in 1624 CE (Kanei 1) as the guardian deity (chinkon) of Kawagoe Castle. The approach path (sandō) within the shrine grounds is said to have served as the setting for the traditional children's song 'Tōriyanse'.

The shrine is well known as the birthplace of the traditional children's song 'Tōriyanse'. Regarding Goshuin (shrine seal stamps), pre-written stamps may be available for collection.
