Ajitakahikone-no-Mikoto is said to have been the guardian deity of Moto Fumon-ji Temple, enshrined from the three mountains of Yamato. The Sanbo-in Fukujyu-in temple conducted shrine affairs from the Tensho period until the Meiji Restoration. In the 5th year of Meiji (1872), it was classified as a village shrine. In the 41st year of Meiji (1908), it merged with Tenjin Shrine on Mount Tenjin and Hachiman Shrine in Nishi-Tada-machi.
