History
After the Meireki Great Fire, land was granted to some residents of Kanda Tsubame-cho as replacement land, where new fields were developed and named Tsubame Shinden. In 1664 CE (Kanbun 4), the village head, Matsui Jibe, and others petitioned the shogunate, securing permission to establish a shrine and temple on the acquired land. Following the separation of Shinto and Buddhism in 1873 CE (Meiji 6), it became independent and was classified as a village shrine (mura-sha).
