History
The founding date is unknown, but because it appears in local gazetteers from the late Edo period, it is presumed to have existed at least by that time. It was classified as a village shrine (mura-sha) in 1872. In 1907, three neighboring shrines were merged into it. The shrine buildings were destroyed by arson in 1926 but were rebuilt in 1929.
