法華経寺の敷地内にあり、五重塔の左側に位置する銅造の釈迦如来坐像です。遠目よりも近くで見る方が大きく感じられる堂々とした存在感があり、精緻な鋳造技術が光る姿が見どころです。背面の扉からは胎内に入ることができる構造になっています。
