In 1869 CE (Meiji 2), Amaterasu-Omikami was added as an enshrined deity, and the shrine was renamed Kuon Shrine. In 1911 CE (Meiji 44), several other shrines were merged into it. Following a fire in 1932 CE (Showa 7), the shrine currently resides in Honjin, Daiei Ward.
