Another account states it was established in 1577 CE (Tensho 5) in Rakuta-mura, Tamba District, and later relocated and re-established in 1639 CE (Kaneiro 16) in Imado-machi. The temple complex was completely destroyed by fire during the Great Nagoya Air Raid, and it was relocated to its current site in Minato-ku in 1953.
