浅草寺の東側に位置する門で、仲見世通りの混雑を避けて本堂へ向かう際の入り口として利用されています。江戸時代初期の建築当時の姿を伝える国の重要文化財であり、門には仏教の守護神である持国天と増長天の像が安置されています。近年は外国人観光客の団体も多く訪れる賑わいを見せています。
