History
The shrine originated during the Keicho era when a branch spirit was enshrined from Fushimi Inari Taisha (Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine). It was also revered by the Tokugawa clan. During the Tokugawa era, it was enshrined as a household deity, and monthly festivals were held on days containing the numbers five and ten, modeled after the weaving market in Ashiya. The shrine was completely destroyed by fire in the Great Kanto Earthquake and was relocated and rebuilt at its current location during the Showa era.

What visitors say
This is a very small shrine located in a corner surrounded by buildings in a business district. Goshuin (a shrine's calligraphic seal stamp) can be received at the shrine office, with different availability for handwritten or pre-printed versions depending on the type. Due to its popularity, wait times can occur, especially for handwritten stamps, so it is recommended to visit with plenty of time to spare.
