Subsequently, under Emperor Murakami and Fujiwara Atuko, large-scale renovation projects were carried out, including the construction of the Five-Story Pagoda. The temple established a strong economic foundation as the family temple of the Minamoto clan and later became a hub for producing distinguished monks.
