History
康平6年(1063年)、宇都宮城主の藤原宗円が本丸築城の際、鬼門の鎮護として今泉の地に神明宮を建立したのが始まりです。明治10年頃に今泉5丁目に遷座し、明治43年に天王社と外数社を合祀して現在の「八坂神社」と改称されました。平成10年からは社殿の大改修事業が行われ、平成12年には遷座祭が執り行われました。
