In 1896 (Meiji 29), pioneers who settled in Imakan established the shrine by dividing the divine spirits of Emperor Ojin and Empress Jingu from Hakodate Hachimangu, aiming to develop their homeland and foster a culture of reverence for deities and ancestors. In 1907 (Meiji 40), it was designated as a Mukasheisha (unranked shrine). In 1919 (Taisho 8), it was classified as a Sonja (village shrine) and designated as a Heihaku Kyosin Jinja (a shrine authorized to receive official offerings). In 1946 (Showa 21), it was established as a religious corporation. In 1996 (Heisei 8), the shrine buildings and approach path were expanded and renovated to commemorate the centennial of its founding.
