Shinkouji
練馬区練馬2丁目12−11
A temple of the Hongwanji branch of the Jodo Shinshu sect, with the mountain name Ryuouzan. The main hall of the Second Shinkouji is accompanied by Nerima Jōen.
History
In 1920, Arakawa Saisou established a branch office called Shinkouji in Nishi-Suginame. In 1929, the temple's registration was transferred from Ibe, Yoshino District, Nara Prefecture, and the current temple grounds were finalized in February 1930. In 1955, a main hall modeled after the Indian-style Tsukiji style of the Hongwanji Tsukiji Branch was constructed.
