History
Founded and established in 1624 CE (Kan'ei 1) by Katanuma Nobutsugu, the direct descendant of the Takeda clan. The founding monk was Nichii of Zenrituin, the 10th generation of Jounkokuji. The temple buildings were completely destroyed by fire during the Chigasaki air raid in 1945 CE (Shōwa 20), but the main hall was rebuilt in 1998 CE (Heisei 10).
