越後八十八ヶ所巡礼の第一番札所です。飾り気がなく、落ち着いた雰囲気の寺院です。山門の階段は表通りからは見えにくい場所にあり、駐車場は海側から入ると入口が逆を向いているため注意が必要です。納経受付所では御朱印を自分で押すシステムとなっており、参拝の際の参考にしてください。
