Susanoo-no-Mikoto
History
The site is associated with the legendary scholar Oni no Koto and serves as the tutelary deity of the Oni clan, enshrining Susanoo-no-Mikoto. In 1835 CE (Tenpō 6), the main hall was constructed, and Amaterasu-ōkami (the Sun Grand Deity) and Amenominakanushi-no-Kami (the Grand Deity of the Heavenly Center) were co-enshrined in the side hall, along with Kumano Ōkami (the Great Deity of Kumano) and Toyuke Ōkami (the Great Deity of Toyuke). The shrine was reduced to ashes in the 1945 CE (Shōwa 20) Osaka air raids and was rebuilt in 1972 CE (Shōwa 47).
