During the Muromachi period, moats were constructed around the area for irrigation. In the Sengoku and Edo periods, it received donations from Ugamasa Yoshimitsu, the Sakai family, and the Honda family. In 1876 CE (Meiji 9), it was designated as a Prefectural Shrine.
