History
The shrine's origins date back to when the Heian-period warrior Minamoto no Yoshinaka established his headquarters in this area. He carved a divine image and erected a temporary shrine to pray for victory in battle. The shrine buildings were later reconstructed after 1904. Following their collapse during the 1948 local earthquake, they were rebuilt in 1958. In 1962, the shrine became a branch shrine receiving a divided spirit from Ishizuchi Hachimangu.
