Hachino-so Chinkamusha Horyozan Koshinsha (Hachino Head Shrine, Horyozan Koshinsha)

It is said to have existed since before the Heian period as a Ujin-gami (local tutelary deity) and a guardian deity of the levees, making it the oldest shrine in the city. During the Kamakura period, a legend states that a Shugendo practitioner named Horyo threw himself into the water and transformed into a dragon to bring rain, leading to his enshrinement as Horyo Myojin. In the Edo period, it was transferred to its current location as the head shrine of the Hachino domain. It is also known as the birthplace of the Hachino Sansha Dai-sai.
