History

Founded in 1895 as the Izumo Taisha Kobe Church Office, established through a branch enshrinement from Izumo Taisha in Shimane Prefecture. In 1940, after the main shrine building was lost in the Hanshin Great Flood, it was rebuilt using total cypress construction and elevated to the status of a branch office (bun'in). It was further elevated to the status of a branch shrine (bunshi) in 1950.
