近鉄奈良駅から徒歩圏内にあり、周辺には売店や鹿の姿も見られる便利な立地です。重要文化財である八角円堂の堂内は、年に一度の「大般若経転読会」の時のみ公開されます。御朱印は売店の隣で受付可能で、紅葉の時期には鮮やかな景色を楽しめます。
