東寺の正面門として、高さ約13m、幅約18mの大きな規模を誇る立派な門です。門越しに見える金堂の姿は趣があり、周辺には賑わいを見せる弘法市の屋台も並びます。近鉄東寺駅から徒歩5分ほどの場所にあり、参拝受付は早朝から対応しています。
