History
The date of founding is unknown, but it is said to have been established following the precedent of Izumo Hi Shrine, after having long been venerated as a guardian deity of spring water. It was rebuilt in 1654 by the collective parishioners of Minamisawa Village and other areas, and was elevated to the status of a village shrine in the early Meiji period. Following a fire in 1969, the new shrine buildings were completed in 1971.
