A temple of the Toji-ha branch of the Shingon sect, also known as Fudoin on Mount Sakagami. It has a history of being ordered to perform prayers for the childbirth of Masako Hojo.
History
The founding date is unknown, but it was formerly known as Fukujidera. During the Kenkyu era, the Musashi Ajari (Master of Musashi) Gyoake lived in seclusion there. Due to the patronage of Minamoto no Yoritomo, the temple was ordered to perform prayers for the childbirth of Masako Hojo. During the Edo period, it was also known as Ryukozan. After the Meiji Restoration, it served as the Betto (head priest) of Sakagami Shrine.
