Founded during the Eiroku period (1394-1427) by Raiyoenbo, with Ho-in Kensho as the founding monk. It was later revived in 1602 CE (Keicho 7) by Hoju-bo Kosei Ho-in, and relocated to its current location in 1945 CE (Sho 20).
