崖の上の高台に鎮座しており、境内からは日田の街並みが一望できる素晴らしい景色を楽しめます。石段や参道を登った先には神社や観音堂があり、仏像の並びや歴史を感じさせる仁王像などを見学できます。駐車場は麓に数台分あり、トイレは境内鳥居前に設置されています。
