国宝に指定されている本堂は、屋根の曲線が非常に美しい木造建築です。堂内には多くの仏像が安置されており、僧侶による丁寧な解説を聞きながら間近で鑑賞できます。紅葉の時期やライトアップ、秋の千灯会などの行事も人気で、国道からも近くアクセスしやすい環境です。
