History

The founding date is unknown, but it is said to have been established at the southern end of a place called Kusunoki, located to the northeast of the current site. During the Eiroku period, Amano Shigeji reconstructed the shrine buildings. In 1908 (Meiji 41), the Shirayama Shrine of Jiroyama, the Asama Shrine, Yama Shrine, and Ichinomiya Shrine of Sueno Village were merged into this shrine. In 1936 (Shōwa 11), the shrine was relocated to Jiroyama. In 1956 (Shōwa 31), it was renamed Jiroyama Hachiman Grand Shrine.
