A Shingon Buddhism Toyasan sect temple known as one of Japan's three great sites for disaster aversion and fortune enhancement. It is the only temple that houses both the golden statue of the Master of Disaster Aversion and the golden statue of the Master of Fortune Enhancement.

The founding date is unknown, but the official website states it has a history of 1200 years and was visited by Kobo Daishi Kukai during the Heian period. It is also associated with Watanabe Kazan, whose ceiling paintings are designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Saitama Prefecture.
