During the Tensho era (1573–1593 CE), it was relocated to its current site by the abbot Ban'kai, renamed "Sumidazan Kichouin Tammonji," and its principal deity was changed to Bishamonten (Vaisravana). During the Bunka era (1804–1818 CE), it was incorporated as one of the Seven Lucky Gods of the Sumida River.
