In 1240 CE (Kagō 2), the shrine buildings were renovated at the current location, and Tenman Tenjin, Daibonten-ō, and Hachiman Daimyōjin were jointly enshrined. The shrine buildings and records were destroyed by fire during the military unrest at Kannon-ji Temple in 1563 CE (Eiroku 6). During the Edo period, the area came under the jurisdiction of Yamato Kōriyama Domain, and in 1870 CE (Meiji 3), the shrine was renamed to its current name.
