A Rinzai Zen sect temple in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, belonging to the Myoshin-ji school. It is also commonly known as Daruma Kannon. It is the eleventh station of the Mino 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and has historical ties to the Toki clan and Inaba Issetetsu.

It is said to have been founded during the Asuka period as a temple for national protection. It converted to the Shingon sect during the Heian period. In 1175 CE (An'ei 1), Emperor Go-Shirakawa enshrined the deity Haraobi Koan Kannon (a Kannon bodhisattva for safe childbirth). In 1502 CE (Bunki 2), the temple converted to the Rinzai Zen sect and enshrined Daruma Daishi (Bodhidharma). The temple fell into disrepair during the Betsuden Disturbance but was revived during the Tensho period (1573-1592 CE).
