History
The exact date of founding is unknown, but in the ninth month of the first year of Meireki (1655 CE), a shrine was established by inviting the deity from Kitano Tenmangu in Kyoto. A small shrine with a roof spanning two and a half bays was built. In the fifth year of Enpō (1677 CE), a violent storm severely damaged the shrine buildings, which were repaired that same year. The shrine was rebuilt in the third year of Ansei (1856 CE).
