History
The founding date is unknown, but it was rebuilt in 1041 CE and later reconstructed in 1587 CE by Masaki Tokiyasu. During the Edo period, it was called Goshu Tenno-gu and was a shrine dedicated to the Gion faith. It was revered as a place to pray for the long military success of successive Ootsuki castle lords and also served as the tutelary deity shrine for the seven districts of Neogoya.
