宇多野の奥まった谷あいにひっそりと建つ、凛とした佇まいの禅寺です。現在は復興が進んでおり、方丈庭園や重要文化財などの見どころがあります。普段は非公開ですが、年に数回特別公開が行われることもあります。静かな竹林の中にあり、落ち着いた雰囲気の中で参拝が可能です。
