History
Founded in 1375 CE (Eiwa 1) with Nichioku, the 8th abbot of Kongo-ji Temple on Mt. Ninen, as the founding priest. The temple was completely destroyed by fire during the Tenmon era (1532-1554) and was later restored by Nichitsu. It was again destroyed by fire during the Kan'ei era (1624-1643), after which Nichisei relocated it from Ona Ni-no-kura to its current location and restored it.
