History
Founded by Nichiyu, the temple was relocated to its current site around 1551 CE (Bunmei 20). The main buildings were destroyed by the Hiroshima atomic bomb in 1945 CE (Shōwa 20), but the Saimyo-dō hall was opened in 2014. The site also contains the grave of Asano Ukon-daifu Tadayoshi, who served as the chief elder (bittō karō) of the Hiroshima Domain.
