Koshin no Zou Shrine

The exact founding date of this shrine is unknown, but it is said to have originated from the enshrinement of the founding ancestor who developed the region during the reign of Emperor Chūai. A shrine called Nagahira was established on the site of the Higashinae Village Kofun Group. During the Heian period, it was recorded as Nagahira Shrine in the Engishiki Shinmyōchō (Engishiki List of Shrine Names) and designated as a shrine listed in the Engishiki. In the first year of Kanren (1017 CE), the shrine began offering pine saplings to the imperial court for New Year decorations. Since then, it received the title of Naemura from Emperor Goshirakawa and changed its name to Naemura Shrine.
