History

The year of founding is unknown. Initially enshrined in the Iyaga Valley of the Nishi-Yasuda district, the shrine was relocated to the Nagaiishi Valley in 1340 CE. In 1617 CE (Genna 3), the shrine buildings were destroyed by fire but were rebuilt the same year. In the late Edo period, the main hall (honden), dance hall, and worship hall (haiden) were newly rebuilt. In 1874 CE (Meiji 7), it was designated as a village shrine, and in 1945 CE (Shōwa 20), it became a religious corporation.
