This Shingi Shingon temple was founded by the priest Choken Ho-in during the Kan'ei era (1624–1644 CE). It is a branch temple of Anrak-ji in Naraki Village, Tama District, and received a donation of 10 koku of temple land from the shogunate during the Keian era. In the early Meiji period, it bore the mountain name Higashijima-yama, but it is now known as Inari-yama.
