During the Edo period, the Tada clan made donations to the temple. It fell into disrepair following the anti-Buddhist movement (Haibutsu Kishaku) in the early Meiji era. The three-story pagoda was rebuilt in 1989, and in 2018, the temple became independent from the Koyasan Shingon sect.
