History
Founded in 1624 CE (Kan'ei 1) by the priest Gokuu Genryo in the Shimio district of Habusa Village, Aitatsu District. It was later relocated to the southern foot of Ojiyama Hachiman Shrine. In 1878 CE (Meiji 11), it collapsed due to age and was merged with Zengyo-in. However, due to the Haibutsu Kishaku (anti-Buddhist movement), Zengyo-in was abolished, leaving Senjuji as the only remaining temple.
