The shrine buildings were crafted by the renowned artisan Yamagami Zennemon and were designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 1961 CE (Showa 36). Due to the deep reverence of successive generations of the Maeda family and the nature of the enshrined deity, who is revered as the god of literature, the shrine houses many valuable paintings, calligraphy works, and classical texts.
