In 1541 CE (Tenbun 10), the local lord Yanagisawa Hayatosuke and Fujiwara Naataka invited a branch spirit from Iwashimizu Hachimangu in Yamato Province. The current main hall is said to have been transferred from Tatsuta Shrine in Yamato Province. The worship hall (haiden) was built in 1832 CE (Tenpo 3). The shrine was classified as a village shrine (musha) in 1873 CE (Meiji 6), and the shrine office was newly constructed in 1936 CE (Showa 11).
